Pramipexole: Paraphilia as adverse drug reaction

"Paraphilia" refers to behavioral phenomena concurrent with sexual arousal to objectsand situations that are not part of normative ways of stimulation within a particularcultural or historical context. Hypersexuality and paraphilia are known complicationsof treatment with dopamine agonists.We report the case of a 52 year old male whowas receiving treatment with Pramipexole, because of a moderate Restless Legs Syndrome,as a result of that, the patient suffered from a exacerbation of his paraphilicbehavior: wearing make-up, dressing up in women’s underwear and connecting toan erotic video-chat.
